Tender bidding for Zanzibar’s offices of Foreign Affairs Ministry begins

ZANZIBAR: THE construction of the Zanzibar’s offices for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, has officially begun today, September 15, 2026, with a site visit and a preliminary tender meeting.

The activities form part of the procurement process aimed at selecting a contractor to implement the project.

The building is planned for Plot No. 209 in Kisakasaka, Zanzibar, covering an area of 10,595.25 square metres. The site has been designated for a modern office building and essential supporting infrastructure, including parking facilities, internal roads, open spaces and other services designed to provide a conducive working environment.

Bidders who took part in the site visit had an opportunity to assess the actual conditions of the project area, its surroundings and the existing infrastructure. The information gathered will help them prepare accurate bids based on the project’s requirements and the practical conditions for its implementation.

Upon completion, the project is expected to improve the Ministry’s working environment in Zanzibar by providing modern and permanent infrastructure. This will enhance the efficiency of the Ministry’s operations, particularly in promoting diplomacy and regional and international cooperation.
