President Putin advocates for global equity as he welcomes Youth Festival’s participants

YEKATERINBURG: RUSSIAN President, Vladimir Putin, has officially welcomed thousands of participants and guests to the International Youth Festival, emphasizing that the younger generation holds a pivotal role in shaping the global future as rapid technological advancements continue to redefine human life.

In a special message addressed to the delegates gathered in Yekaterinburg, a historic city strategically located on the border of Europe and Asia, President Putin noted that the Urals region has served as a powerhouse for Russia’s industrial, scientific, and developmental milestones for centuries.

He described Yekaterinburg as the ideal forum for young leaders from across the globe to converge and deliberate on how emerging technologies are transforming societies, and to collectively envision the kind of world they want to build.

The Russian leader underscored the core values of friendship, peace, and mutual understanding among nations. He highlighted the profound meaning of the Russian word “mir,” which simultaneously translates to peace, friendship, and the world, stating that this concept deeply reflects the foundational principles of Russia.

“We want everyone to remain human, and for no one’s life to be dictated by their nationality, wealth, status, or historical background,” President Putin stated. “We firmly believe that every nation has the right to choose its own path of development freely.”

Advocating for global equity, the President stressed that all nations must have equal access to vital necessities. These include quality healthcare, food, clean water, energy, education, and modern technologies, which he argued should be deployed for the collective benefit of all humanity.
