Kigoma’s Immigration Office enhances measures to curb illegal immigration

KIGOMA: THE Special Zone Immigration Office in Kigoma region has embarked on an exercise to curb illegal immigration by providing education to owners of hotels, bars and guesthouses on immigration laws.

SACI Mlula also provided clarification on the types of permits required for foreign nationals engaged in agricultural and fishing activities, as well as the importance of foreigners residing in Tanzania for family-related reasons obtaining a Dependant Pass in accordance with the law.
He further urged Tanzanian citizens married to foreign nationals to ensure that their spouses obtain the required permits to reside in the country in accordance with immigration laws and procedures.
For his part, Kigoma Special Zone Head of Operations, ACI Christian Mndeme, outlined strategies being implemented by the zone to regulate the entry, residence and departure of foreign nationals in the country.
