NeST system now serves over 30 Tanzania’s institutional and service-related systems

DODOMA: TANZANIA’S Electronic Public Procurement System (NeST) has now been integrated with more than 30 institutional and service-related systems in a move aimed at streamlining public tendering processes and strengthening the verification of bidders’ information.

The announcement was made by the Director General of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), Dennis Simba, who said the development is part of the implementation of President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s directive to ensure that government systems are interoperable and able to exchange information efficiently.

Speaking in Dodoma today, August 20, 2026, while presenting the implementation of the 2025/2026 budget and outlining priorities for the 2026/2027 financial year, Simba said NeST can now exchange information with a range of systems, including banking and payment platforms, social security systems, professional registration boards and licensing systems.

According to Simba, the integration has strengthened the system’s ability to verify bidders’ information directly, thereby reducing the risk of forged documents being submitted during the tendering process.

He added that the development has also reduced the documentation burden on bidders, as much of the information required during the tendering process is already accessible through systems linked to NeST.

“This is why we say public procurement has now been simplified and can take less time because a large amount of the required documentation is already available in the system,” Simba said.

The integration is expected to improve efficiency in public procurement, reduce the time required to process tenders and strengthen transparency and integrity in the verification of bidders’ information.
