Kizimkazi lures investments in infrastructure, and development projects as it has promising future in business
ZANZIBAR: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has called on investors to take advantage of opportunities available in Kizimkazi, Zanzibar, saying ongoing investment in infrastructure and development projects is creating new opportunities for business in the area.
President Samia said a conducive investment environment has been established in Kizimkazi and urged businesses and investors who see opportunities in the area to come forward and take advantage of them to expand their operations.
Speaking today, August 14, 2026, during the climax of the Kizimkazi Festival in Zanzibar, President Samia said the festival was not solely about entertainment but was also intended to identify and facilitate the implementation of various development projects that would benefit local communities.
She said the celebrations and activities associated with the festival should go hand in hand with economic and development opportunities, allowing residents to directly benefit from activities taking place in the area.
“These celebrations should go hand in hand with development opportunities,” President Samia said, stressing the importance of making use of opportunities arising from investments and development projects being implemented in Kizimkazi.

President Samia also said the government is continuing with the construction of a sports stadium in Kizimkazi, which, once completed, could be used during the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
According to President Samia, the stadium will further stimulate business and investment activities in the area, including services required by players, visitors and participants in the tournament.
She said the opportunities could boost economic activity and provide businesses and investors with opportunities to participate in sectors linked to sports, tourism, hospitality and trade.
President Samia stressed that infrastructure development and ongoing investment in Kizimkazi should be used as catalysts for creating more employment, business and income opportunities for local residents.
