Russia awards 100 percent scholarships to 10 Tanzanian students to pursue degrees at RUDN University

DODOMA: THE Russian government has awarded 100 percent scholarships to 10 Tanzanian students who completed their Form Six studies, enabling them to pursue undergraduate degrees at RUDN University in Moscow, Russia.

Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Adolf Mkenda, made the announcement today, August 13, 2026, while speaking to journalists in Dodoma. He said the students are expected to leave Tanzania on September 1, 2026.

Prof Mkenda said the students were selected from eight public schools and two private schools, and all are science-stream graduates.

The students are Musa Joseph Sunguro and Allen Maseke Raphael from Kibaha; Stephano Jose Sobago from Bumangi; Danny Godlove Masue from Agape Lutheran Junior Seminary; and Filbert Tumaini from Nsumba.

Others are Juma Frank Marwa from Mara, Leonce Jisena Subi from Ilongero, Hurrier Nasibu from Heritage, Emmanuel John Mabala from Tabora Boys, and Heri Mahendeka Mtaki from Marian Boys Mlingotini.

According to Minister Mkenda, the names of the selected students will be published today on the website of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to provide further information to the students and the public.

The scholarship programme is part of educational cooperation between Tanzania and Russia, particularly efforts to provide science students with opportunities to pursue higher education at universities abroad.
