Temeke prioritizes local contractors to boost economic growth

TEMEKE: THE Temeke Municipal Council has urged contractors implementing projects in the district to ensure they complete them on time and maintain high quality standards for the benefit of the nation and the community.
This was stated today in Dar es Salaam by the Mayor of Temeke Municipality, Uzairu Athumani, while receiving the third quarter report for the 2025/26 financial year. He said the council prioritizes local contractors in order to strengthen the domestic economy.

“The council has received and discussed development activity reports from all wards covering the education, health, roads, waste management and infrastructure sectors. We discussed them carefully and issued directives to our experts to complete them as proposed by officials and councilors.
“To us, a person who pays taxes is the smart one, contrary to the common belief that tax evaders are clever. In Temeke today, the taxpayer is the smart citizen. People are truly paying taxes, and that is why we walk with pride,” said Uzairu.
Meanwhile, the Director of Temeke Municipality, Jomaary Satura, said the municipality has continued to establish new sources of revenue, a move expected to strengthen the council financially.
