CCM affirms to maintain long-standing ties with China’s CPC

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Chairperson of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan has affirmed to maintain the long-standing cooperation with the Communist Party of China (CPC) in talks held here today, May 21, 2026.
President Samia made the remarks during her talks with a senior delegation from the CPC at the State House in Dar es Salaam.
The Chinese delegation was led by CPC Central Committee member and Minister of the International Department, Liu Haixing.
Speaking during the talks, President Samia said Tanzania will continue to strengthen cooperation with China in line with the country’s Vision 2050, particularly in investment, energy, food security, governance, peace and security, as well as leadership development through the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Leadership School.

According to the Head of State, the Tanzanian government remains committed to attracting productive investment, increasing energy production capacity, improving food production and building strong institutions for long-term national development.
Moreover, the President praised the historic relations between China and Tanzania, noting that the two countries have continued to cooperate in political, economic, trade and human development areas while commending China for its continued support in institutional capacity building and knowledge exchange programmes, which have enabled Tanzanian leaders and experts to learn from China’s development experience, systems and governance philosophy.
On his part, Mr Liu Haixing thanked President Samia for her continued commitment to strengthening Tanzania–China relations, noting that her visits to China have significantly deepened bilateral cooperation.
He said China has remained Tanzania’s leading trading partner for nine consecutive years, reflecting the strength of economic ties between the two countries and the vast opportunities available in trade, investment, industry and infrastructure development.
“Tanzania plays a strategic role in trade across East and Central Africa through the Dar es Salaam Port and China will continue to cooperate with Tanzania in promoting peace, stability and socio-economic development,” he said.
