TSN, NHIF embarks on joint efforts to enable Health Insurance Fund reach all Tanzanians

DODOMA: THE Executive Director of the Tanzania Standard Newspaper (TSN), Asha Dachi, has met and held talks with the Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), Dr Irene Isaka in Dodoma where various issues of strengthening cooperation were discussed.
For his part, the TSN CEO, Dachi, began by thanking the Director General of NHIF for the existing cooperation between these two institutions, she went on to say that he recognizes that NHIF has carried a major national agenda, the Universal Health Insurance agenda, this issue is big and therefore requires joint efforts to successfully reach all Tanzanians.
In addition, Dachi assured the Director General of NHIF that TSN is ready to carry the agenda through various platforms they have, including newspapers and social networks (digital platforms). There have been major improvements in TSN where newspapers are now read online. It is not necessary to read hard copies,
Ms Dachi, also said the news is available on TSN’s social media, which makes it possible to reach many people at the right time.

Dachi continued to say that TSN would like to have strategic partnerships with NHIF in building awareness of Universal Health Insurance (UHI) and ultimately President Samia’s big dream to come true.
For his part, Dr Isaka welcomed the ideas presented by the TSN CEO, emphasizing that these ideas have come at the right time when the Fund is making efforts nationwide to provide education and register members under the Universal Health Insurance Act.
“Your presence will greatly help build understanding and thus simplify the membership registration exercise,” said Dr Isaka.
Concluding the talks, the Heads of the institutions agreed to enter into a formal agreement outlining various areas of collaboration between these institutions with the aim of achieving institutional goals and ultimately achieving the national agenda of Universal Health Coverage, which is an important step in efforts to combat poverty in society.
