Ms Mungula elected to coordinate for East Africa at Pan-African Parliament

JOHANNESBURG: TANZANIAN delegation to the Pan-African Parliament has secured a key leadership role after Mariam Anzuruni Mungula was elected Coordinator of the East African Group.
The position carries the responsibility of coordinating the group’s activities and presenting official reports during parliamentary sessions, marking a significant milestone for Tanzania’s participation in continental legislative affairs.

Ms Mungula’s election reflects growing confidence among East African member states in Tanzania’s leadership, expertise and contribution to parliamentary diplomacy at the African level.

In her new role, she will oversee deliberations within the group, prepare and present reports, and ensure that the interests and priorities of East African countries are effectively articulated in the Parliament’s proceedings.
