Tanzania unveils three strategies in its efforts to combat diseases

MOROGORO: THE Tanzanian government has announced the implementation of the plan to prevent and control infections, three main areas are being considered, including ensuring the fight against all infectious diseases in hospitals and all health care facilities.

Speaking in Morogoro today, April 15, 2026, the coordinator from the Ministry of Health, Dr Joseph Hokororo, revealed that during a working session to analyze statistics on the prevention and control of infections and add some indicators to the DHIS2 system.

He said this is part of strengthening the health system so that it is strong and capable of dealing with various challenges.

Adding, he said the government continues to strengthen the fight against all infectious diseases in hospitals and all health care facilities, a move aimed at strengthening the health system so that it is strong and capable of dealing with various challenges.

“The government has continued to control the spread of antimicrobial resistance by ensuring that resistance does not spread further, to protect the effectiveness of existing treatments and reduce the risk to society,” said Dr Hokororo

Furthermore, he added that strengthening preparedness and the ability to respond to epidemics in a timely manner is essential through robust surveillance systems and rapid infection control measures when they occur.
