US and Iranian officials meet Pakistani PM in separate talks ahead of peace negotiations

IRAN: Iranian officials have met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ahead of US peace talks – details of negotiations remain scarce, but we’ve answered four key questions.
US Vice President JD Vance has also met with Sharif, accompanied by special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s adviser and son-in-law Jared Kusher.
Peace plans have been shared through the media, but no official points have been released. Even so, Iranian state TV warns talks could be cancelled if Tehran’s conditions aren’t met.
Iran’s delegation leader Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says his negotiators have “good intentions” but “do not trust” the US. Vance previously warned the Americans won’t be receptive if Iran “try to play us”.
