Experts from 14 nations begin training on the laboratory’s preventive maintenance

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzanian government has continued its efforts to build the capacity of laboratory experts from 14 African Union member countries in efforts to ensure they have common goals in the provision of laboratory services.
The Director of the National Laboratory, Ambele Mwafulango, opening the ten-day training in Dar es Salaam, urged the experts to focus on using the ten days they will be attending the training and leaving with a sense of accomplishment.

“I believe that after this training, each of us will have a broad understanding of the selection, installation, maintenance, and quality control of Biological Safety Cabinets,” he said.
Mwafulango said that, apart from gaining knowledge and skills, it will also help the African continent to have its own experts who are self-sufficient and abandoning dependence on the entire issue of servicing member country laboratories.
