VP to grace Quran Recitation contest whose preps is 90 percent complete

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Second Vice President of Zanzibar, Hemed Suleiman Abdulla, is expected to be the chief guest at the launch of the world’s largest Qur’an competition organized by the Alhikma Foundation.

The competition, which will take place in 2026, will mark its 26th edition since its inception and will feature participants from various countries around the world.

Speaking today, January 9, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, the Chairman of Alhikma Foundation, Sheikh Nurdeen Kishki, said that preparations for the competition are 90 percent complete.

He added that the foundation is continuing to implement its plans according to schedule, emphasizing that there will be no delays.

The competition will be officially launched on February 1, 2026, with special guest Sheikh Abdul Rashid Ali Sufi from Qatar. Full details about the competition will be announced following the launch.
