Govt allocates 197m/- for Mpamaa Primary School

DODOMA: THE government has disbursed 197m/- for the implementation of various development projects at Mpamaa Primary School in Dodoma City, including classroom construction and the renovation of sanitation facilities.

Presenting the project report, Education Officer for Miyuji Ward, Ms Grace Lisasi, said the funds were provided under the BOOST Project and have been used for the construction of three new classrooms, six toilet pits and the renovation of seven classrooms along with 12 toilet pits.

She noted that upon completion, the project will significantly improve the learning environment and ensure students study in safe and conducive surroundings.

For her part, the Zone Six Economist from the Dodoma City Council, Ms Alicia Anthony, underscored the need for strong collaboration among stakeholders to ensure timely and quality completion of the project as planned by the government.

“Teachers, ward and street leaders must work closely together to ensure the project is completed on time and to the expected standards. It is also important to ensure there are no irregularities during implementation,” she said.

She emphasised the importance of proper documentation and accountability during the handling of construction materials, urging those responsible to record every item issued to artisans to maintain transparency and track progress effectively.

“The contractor should also be reminded in writing to deliver construction materials on time to enable smooth continuation of the work,” Ms Anthony added, noting that all project agreements should be documented to avoid misunderstandings during implementation.

The construction and renovation work at Mpamaa Primary School form part of a broader government initiative to improve education infrastructure across Dodoma Region through various funding programmes.
