Fuel prices remain unchanged throughout November

DAR ES SALAAM: FUEL pump prices across the country will remain unchanged throughout November, the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) has announced.
This means motorists will continue paying the same prices introduced in October 2025.
The authority said the decision affects petroleum products entering the country through Dar es Salaam, Tanga and Mtwara ports.
In Dar es Salaam, the retail price for a litre of petrol remains 2,752/- diesel at 2,704/-, and kerosene at 2,774-.
In Tanga, consumers will continue to pay 2,813/- per litre for petrol, 2,766/- for diesel and 2,835/- for kerosene.
In Mtwara, the prices remain 2,844/- per litre for petrol, 2,797/- for diesel and 2,866/- for kerosene.
EWURA said the unchanged pricing reflects current market conditions affecting the petroleum supply chain, including importation and distribution costs.
The authority further reiterated that all fuel stations are required to display pump prices in a clear and visible manner to consumers.

The directive also encourages competition among retailers by advising consumers to purchase fuel from stations offering lower prices where choice is available.
Fuel retailers are additionally required to issue receipts generated through Electronic Fiscal Pump Printers (EFPP).
Consumers are urged to check that receipts show the date of purchase, fuel type, pump price and the name of the fuel station.
This measure is part of ongoing efforts to improve transparency and ensure accurate tax reporting across the petroleum supply chain.
EWURA noted that failure to display pump prices or issue valid electronic receipts is a violation of regulatory requirements and may result in penalties.
The authority said it will continue monitoring fuel distribution and pricing in the country to ensure compliance with regulations and to safeguard consumer interests.
