NCCR-Mageuzi: Peace key to sustainable development

DODOMA: NCCR-Mageuzi presidential candidate Mr Haji Ambari Khamisi has pledged that, if elected, his government will safeguard and strengthen Tanzania’s long-standing peace, describing it as the foundation of sustainable development.
Speaking during a campaign rally at Kigwe Ward in Bahi District, Dodoma Region, on Tuesday, Mr Khamisi said peace is a core principle of NCCR-Mageuzi’s policy agenda and urged citizens to reject any attempts to incite unrest.
“Our policy at NCCR-Mageuzi is peace. Do not allow yourselves to be influenced by those who seek to disrupt our national stability. Such individuals do not mean well for this country,” he said.
Mr Khamisi warned that in countries where peace has broken down, it is always women, children, the elderly and youth who suffer the most.
He encouraged Tanzanians to resist divisive rhetoric and stand firm in protecting national unity.
The NCCR-Mageuzi flagbearer also appealed to citizens to show respect for the president and refrain from engaging in personal attacks, pointing out that the Head of State is a representative of the people’s will.
“When you insult the president, you are insulting Tanzanians themselves. Let us avoid hate and conflict. These things begin gradually and before long, they can tear a nation apart,” he cautioned.
Drawing from personal experience in conflict zones, Mr Khamisi painted a grim picture of war, noting: “In war, people live in bunkers for weeks, surviving on very little food and water. It’s better for people to disagree peacefully than to allow internal conflict to take root.”

NCCR-Mageuzi’s presidential running mate, Dr Evaline Munisi, presented the party’s economic blueprint, pledging to establish industries in every ward across the country.
These would be based on local agricultural production and geared towards value addition Dr Munisi said that under their administration, price controls would be guided by citizens themselves, not dictated by government mandates, ensuring fair and inclusive market participation.
To support the proposed industrial growth, she announced plans to set up vocational training centres in every ward, tailored to local skills and economic opportunities.
“Bahi currently has only one vocational training centre, which is not enough. We want to empower our youth with practical skills by establishing more centres offering training in innovation, carpentry, tailoring, construction and various crafts,” she said.
