Tanzania seeks to benefit from the Africa-Nordic countries partnership

VICTORIA Falls: THE Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has called on the Tanzanian delegation that participated in the 22nd Meeting of Foreign Ministers from African and Nordic countries to develop a practical Action Plan that will enable Tanzania to benefit more from the partnership.
The minister made the call during the conclusion of the meeting held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, saying that despite the achievements made during the discussions, it is crucial to take concrete steps by setting time-bound and measurable goals.
He stated that the government continues to implement major policy and legal reforms aimed at improving the business and investment environment, as well as removing structural barriers that hinder the growth of various sectors.

Elaborating, he said that the implementation of the National Development Vision 2050 is progressing through major projects such as renewable energy, railway modernization, and strengthening of the private sector.
“These reforms are opening new economic and trade opportunities so it is the responsibility of the Tanzanian delegation to ensure these opportunities are fully utilized for the benefit of the country. There is a need for a strategic cooperation framework with Nordic countries that clearly outlines national priorities in areas such as technology, education, clean energy, trade, and investment,” he said
Additionally, he stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration between the government and the private sector to enhance efficiency and facilitate the implementation of development strategies.
