Kwimba Parliament candidate Bulala vows swift action on water, health

MWANZA: IN a vibrant show of support, residents gathered over the weekend in Hungumalwa Ward for the official launch of Cosmas Bulala’s campaign for the Kwimba parliamentary seat — and they left with bold promises ringing in their ears.
Mr Bulala, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) candidate for Kwimba constituency, pledged to be a forceful advocate for the people if elected, assuring voters that he would push for swift, practical solutions to long-standing issues in water supply, infrastructure, healthcare and social services.
“President Samia Suluhu Hassan has already committed major projects here, including a large-scale water project from Mhalo to Ngudu that will benefit 37 villages. Funds have been disbursed and the contractor has received the initial payment. By this time next year, Lake Victoria water will reach Ngudu and our villages will have a reliable supply.”
Mr Bulala emphasised that several other water initiatives were underway, including a project in Buyogo, but warned that some contractors were not moving fast enough. He vowed to follow up rigorously in Parliament to ensure timely completion.
On infrastructure, Bulala pointed to tangible progress. The government has already begun constructing the Ngudu–Hungumalwa road, feeder roads and key bridges — including in Buyogo — and plans are in place for a modern market and bus stand for Hungumalwa Ward.
Turning to health, Bulala said the situation at the Kwimba District Hospital remained a concern, with many residents still seeking care in neighbouring Misungwi District. But he reassured the crowd that help was on the way.
“President Samia has promised to increase the number of health workers, equip our health facilities and construct new health centres in two wards right here in Kwimba,” he said. “This will significantly boost service delivery and reduce the burden on our people.”

On electrification, he announced that all sub-villages in Kwimba would soon be connected to power and that Ngudu township had already benefited from six kilometres of newly paved tarmac roads.
The campaign launch, dubbed Kwimba Day, was marked by jubilant dancing, music and calls for unity behind the CCM flag. CCM Mwanza Regional Chairman Michael Lushinge was the guest of honour, joined by Sumve parliamentary candidate Moses Bujaga, councillors from all 30 wards of Kwimba District, CCM special seats candidates, party leaders from the youth and women’s wings and former Sumve MP Kasalali Mageni.
The event turned into a powerful show of party unity and grassroots energy, with supporters vowing to deliver a landslide victory for CCM and President Samia in the upcoming election.
