Police see criminal offense in Polepole’s social media allegations

DODOMA: THE Tanzania Police Force has opened a case file and launched an investigation into various allegations made by former Tanzanian Ambassador to Cuba, Humphrey Polepole, following his resignation in July 2025.
According to a statement released by Police Spokesperson DCP David Misime, the allegations made by Polepole via social media suggest potential criminal offenses.
As per the law, such claims require verifiable evidence should they be brought before a court of law.

The statement explained that after initiating the investigation, the police have been collecting evidence and making efforts to locate Polepole so that he can provide a formal statement and supporting documents to substantiate his claims a step that would pave the way for further legal action.
Additionally, the Police Force has directed Polepole to report to the Office of the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to formally present his explanations regarding the allegations he has been airing on social media platforms.
