Wasira cracks whip ahead of elections

MOROGORO: CCM Vice-Chairman (Mainland), Stephen Wasira, has laid down a no-nonsense roadmap for party loyalists to ensure a sweeping victory in the upcoming general elections.
Speaking to party leaders in Morogoro on Tuesday, Wasira listed three must-dos for victory: dismantle internal factions, amplify the party’s achievements, and most importantly, mobilize voters.
He urged members to abandon cliques and work as one unit, warning that internal divisions could sabotage the party’s chances. “We must do away with groupings and promote the successes of Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan’s leadership over the past four years,” he said.

Wasira emphasized that voter turnout is crucial, warning against complacency. “Don’t assume that winning the primaries makes you an MP,” he cautioned. “Aboud is just the party’s internal nominee and the real test comes when we face the opposition.”
His message was clear: victory is not automatic, and without boots on the ground and votes in the box, even CCM’s stronghold could crack.
