Wasira: CCM manifesto to drive inclusive growth

MANYARA: CCM Vice-Chairman (Mainland) Mr Stephen Wasira has said the party’s presidential candidate Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan is poised for a landslide victory in the October 29 General Election, citing the transformative work she has accomplished over the past four years.

Speaking recently during a campaign rally in Simanjiro District, Manyara Region, Mr Wasira said the upcoming CCM Election Manifesto for 2025–2030 focuses on inclusive economic development that directly impacts citizens across all sectors.

“That is why we develop a manifesto. When you look at the progress made, you don’t even need statistics, Tanzanians, including those in Simanjiro, can see it for themselves. They know how many health centres, classrooms and livestock dips have been built. Just recently, President Samia issued subsidies to support livestock vaccinations,” he said.

Mr Wasira said that CCM’s achievements are visible across the country, noting that even long-standing challenges such as water scarcity in Simanjiro are now being addressed.

“I urge all residents of Simanjiro to ensure every registered voter turns out on election day and most importantly, to vote for Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan. Let’s secure a clean sweep with a united front and then focus on implementing the manifesto,” he said.

Mr Wasira outlined the core objectives of the 2025– 2030 CCM Manifesto, which centres on building a peopledriven economy, where among others, pastoralists will be empowered to ensure their livestock ventures generate real income.

He said farmers will be supported with tools and largescale irrigation projects to boost productivity and fight poverty, while fisherfolk will be equipped with modern fishing gear, and new industries will be established based on locally available raw materials. “In Simanjiro, the key resource is livestock.

So, naturally, we aim to establish meat processing industries to harness that potential,” he said. He added that each district will have its own industries tailored to local agricultural or natural resources, in line with the party’s commitment to decentralised and sustainable development.

Mr Wasira also underscored the government’s ongoing efforts to improve rural living standards.

“Just imagine, some of your villages are over 70 kilometres from town. Who would’ve thought electricity would reach them? But now, nearly every village in Tanzania has access to power, with just a few hamlets left. These efforts are not just about infrastructure; they are about empowering individuals economically,” he said.

Mr Wasira urged voters to turn out in full force: “My fellow citizens, the most important message I bring today is this: We must win this election. Only then we can continue building on the progress we’ve made and deliver inclusive growth for all Tanzanians.”
