Tanzania opens wide the gates for investors at AFSF 2025

DAKAR, Senegal: As the African Food Systems Forum 2025 is underway, today marked an important day for Tanzania as it engaged with investors eager to learn about the country’s diverse investment opportunities in sectors such as mining, agriculture, tourism, fisheries, livestock, and other areas of business.
Speaking at the Tanzania Investment Day in Senegal, a research manager at the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), Anna Lyimo told investors that Tanzania is currently performing very well as the government has removed barriers that once hindered productive investments in the country.
She noted that there is now a One Stop Facilitation Centre, where investors can complete all procedures in one place — covering immigration, licensing, taxation, employment, and more.

She further highlighted key incentives, including tax holidays, duty-free imports, 100 per cent profit repatriation, and tax exemptions of up to 10 years.
On his part, the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr Stephen Nindi, presented various agricultural initiatives, with particular emphasis on the youth-focused Build a Better Tomorrow (BBT) programme, which has already begun showing results.

Today marks the fifth day of theforumm in Dakar, Senegal, which has brought together over 6,000 participants, including heads of state, ministers, major investors, business leaders, and international organizations.
With a strong focus on transforming Africa’s food systems, the forum provides a high-level platform for policy dialogue, investment opportunities, youth and women empowerment, and climate-smart agriculture solutions.

It has become a continental marketplace where governments and businesses connect to strike deals that will shape the future of Africa’s food and economic security.
From Tanzania, the delegation engaging with investors was led by former Prime Minister and Presidential Advisor on Agriculture, Mizengo Pinda, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, Agnes Meena and Dr Stephen Nindi, Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture.
