Bank commits to strengthening public-private partnership

DAR ES SALAAM: ABSA Bank Tanzania has highlighted its dedication to strengthening partnerships with public and private sectors to drive sustainable and inclusive growth nationwide.

The remarks were made by Managing Director Mr Obedi Laiser at the 200 CEOs Business Forum, an exclusive gathering of the nation’s top corporate leaders, where Absa Bank Tanzania was a Diamond Sponsor.

“By bringing policy-makers and industry leaders together, the forum fosters practical alignment on regulations, bankable projects and risk-sharing structures that catalyse large-scale investment turning ambition into action,” he said.

The event featured three focused dialogues on leadership and governance, health and workforce resilience and financing pathways to unlock growth, culminating in public-private partnership insights from the national centre and a gala celebrating industry excellence.

Mr Laiser added, “This forum is more than a meeting of minds; it is a platform for decisions that mobilise capital, create jobs, formalise value chains and unlock export potential.”

Gracing the 200 CEOs Business Forum, the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Dr Suleiman Serera called for coordinated national efforts to scale up job creation and increase exports, emphasising that such action is crucial to unlocking Tanzania’s full economic growth potential.

Dr Serera urged CEOs at the 200 CEOs Business Forum to take a leading role in driving coordinated efforts to scale up job creation and boost exports.

He emphasised the critical need for public-private collaboration to align strategies, mobilise investment and leverage expertise key factors necessary for unlocking Tanzania’s economic growth potential and ensuring sustainable development.
