TISEZA to lure Asian investment at the Africa-Singapore Business Forum

SINGAPORE: THE good performance of the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) will be tabled to lure more investment from Asian countries at the ongoing Africa-Singapore Business Forum in Singapore.
Through this Business Forum, Minister Kombo will seize the opportunity to promote Tanzania as a gateway for trade and investment in the East African region, aiming to attract more direct investment from Singapore to Tanzania.
According to statistics from the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), from 1997 to July 2025, a total of 36 investment projects from Singapore, worth approximately 535.13m US dollars, have been registered in Tanzania.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahamoud Thabit Kombo, arrived in Singapore on August 25, 2025, for an official working visit set to last until August 29, 2025.
During the visit, Minister Kombo will participate in key strategic events aimed at strengthening cooperation between Tanzania, Africa, and Singapore. These events include the 5th Meeting of Foreign Ministers of African Countries and Singapore (SAMEV), the 8th Africa-Singapore Business Forum (ASBF), and a business forum between Tanzanian and Singaporean entrepreneurs.

In addition to attending these meetings, Minister Kombo will hold bilateral talks with senior government officials from Singapore as well as stakeholders from the private sector. These discussions are expected to enhance diplomatic and economic relations between Tanzania and Singapore.
Through this visit, Minister Kombo will seize the opportunity to promote Tanzania as a gateway for trade and investment in the East African region, aiming to attract more direct investment from Singapore to Tanzania.
According to statistics from the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), from 1997 to July 2025, a total of 36 investment projects from Singapore, worth approximately 535.13m US dollars, have been registered in Tanzania. These projects are estimated to have created around 3,228 jobs for Tanzanians.
The industrial sector leads in attracting Singaporean investors, with 21 out of the 36 projects implemented in this sector, demonstrating a strong commitment to boosting Tanzania’s industrial economy through international cooperation.
