Mega music festival connecting senior, junior artists to brighten Arusha

ARUSHA: TANZANIA tourist favorite Arusha will be lit up this weekend when a mega music festival will bring on a hot stage the best of Tanzanian music artistry.

That was revealed by Arusha Regional Commissioner, Kenani Kihongosi, who said the major festival is aimed at promoting youth with artistic talent by bringing together veteran artists and youthful performers.

Going as Tanzania Samia Connect Festival, the event is scheduled to start on Thursday, August 21st and climax on 23rd this year in Arusha.

The festival will not only spotlight talent but also provide essential social services to the community, including free medical care and access to national identification registration.

Scheduled to be held at the Mgambo Grounds in Uzunguni, Arusha, the event aims to encourage youth to showcase their talents and tap into various opportunities within the creative industry.

Veteran artists JCB and Fido Vato, speaking to reporters here, expressed their enthusiasm about the festival, describing Tanzania Samia Connect as a transformative event that will open up numerous opportunities for both youth and the wider community.

They also highlighted the festival’s role in revitalizing Arusha’s art and music scene while boosting the region’s economy through increased tourism and business activities associated with the event.

More than 50 artists are expected to perform at Tanzania Samia Connect 2025, including renowned musicians from Arusha such as Fido Vato, known for his hit song “Chuga Hiyo,” and JCB, who rose to fame with the track “Ukisikia Paah.
