Samia to grace CCM’s fundraising campaign targeting 100m/-

DAR ES SALAAM: PRESIDENT and Chairperson of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Samia Suluhu Hassan, will tomorrow officially lead and launch the party’s national fundraising campaign aimed at raising a total of 100bn/- for its campaign ahead of the presidential, parliamentary, and councilor elections scheduled for October 29 this year.
The announcement was made by CCM’s Secretary General, Ambassador Emmanuel Nchimbi in a meeting with editors and senior journalists at the party’s sub-headquarters in Lumumba, Dar es Salaam, on Monday.
According to the Secretary General, the fundraising event will be held at Mlimani City, where he called upon the party’s members, who have increased from 12m/- to 13.19m/-, to turn out and participate in raising the targeted sum.
“We have decided to hold a national fundraising tomorrow and our aim is to showcase the strength of Chama Cha Mapinduzi, which is powered by its members,” Dr Nchimbi said.
Additionally, he said that the fundraising is crucial due to the cost involved in campaigns, which includes vehicles, fuel, t-shirts, caps, banners, flags, and more.
Moreover, he said that members will be able to contribute through bank accounts and mobile money platforms that will be announced by the party.
