EWURA to conduct quality inspection of all gas pumps in Arusha

ARUSHA: THE Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority(EWURA) is set to launch a full-length operation to inspect all gas stations across the Northern Zone regions, to ensure the quality of petroleum fuel at the pumps.
“In case a customer suspects that a certain pump has sold them spiked fuel or contaminated gasoline and diesel, they can always report the matter to EWURA, so that he or she may get compensated,” revealed the authority’s Northern Zone Manager, Engineer Lorivii Long’idu.
According to Long’idu, the same case applies to the Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) , the type of fuel used domestically, which the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) also oversees, and customers must always check that the cylinders are filled with proper gas and at the right capacity.
“We are especially keen on domestic gas because the country is currently encouraging Tanzanians to embark on safe and clean gas for environmental protection, therefore, it is important for business entities to supply proper gas to their customers as part of the encouragement,” added the EWURA Manager.
