DAR ES SALAAM: President Samia Suluhu Hassan over the weekend visited the newly established National Bank of Commerce (NBC) branch in Ubungo, while officially inaugurating the East Africa Commercial and Logistic Centre (EACLC) in Dar es Salaam.

The bank’s new branch is housed within a state-of-the-art commercial building, the construction of which commenced in May 2023, with a total projected cost of 282.7b/-. NBC is one of the key financial institutions that has financed this endeavor, reaffirming its commitment to promoting business growth, transportation, employment opportunities, and overall economic progress in the region.

In his address to the President, Mr Sabi commended Dr. Samia for her visionary leadership, which continuously fosters a favorable investment climate and encourages collaboration between the public and private sectors.

In the course, he emphasized that the establishment of the new branch at the trade center is part of NBC’s commitment to supporting the government’s objectives of providing high-quality financial services, particularly international banking services.

“Madam President, the introduction of this new branch in this international business center exemplifies our efforts as a bank to deliver financial services closer to various businesses, both domestic and international, thereby facilitating and accelerating trading activities within this center,” he remarked.

“This branch is equipped to offer a comprehensive range of banking services as a fully operational branch, including loan services and modern ATMs designed for the dispensing of both Tanzanian currency and foreign currencies (multi-currency). This is essential to cater to the needs of international businesses. Additionally, to address the specific requirements of our customers at the EACLC, this branch will feature extended operating hours, similar to our Mlimani City branch, which remains open until 7:00 PM,” he elaborated.
