93 Kilometres of sweat and blood for Cyclists in Uluguru Mountains
MOROGORO: OVER 30 cyclists from various parts of the country have prepared for a challenging race to be held on the Uluguru Mountains this Sunday.
The 93-kilometre race will be a test of stamina and cycling skills, as participants explore every corner of the natural beauty of the famous mountains.
“The cycling will officially start at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), which is located at the foot of the mountains. From there, cyclists will head to a difficult and challenging route, passing through beautiful green areas such as Mlali, Kibaoni, and Lolo.
“The peak of the race will be the village of Nyandira, which is one of the highest points in the Uluguru Mountains,” said the race coordinator, Albert Nguya.
In addition to being a physical test for cyclists, this race also has other important goals of encouraging the conservation and respect for the mountain environment.
Cyclists from various regions of the country, including Dodoma, Morogoro, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, have confirmed their participation in this race. This shows the growing popularity of race, which is entering its fourth season.

The race is organised by the Uluguru Cycling Club, an organisation that brings together cycling enthusiasts from Morogoro and Coastal regions. The club has been working hard to promote cycling and encourage people to live healthy lives.
Nguya said that in addition to the confirmed participants, they also invite the public and all lovers of the sport to attend the race and support efforts to promote tourism and sports in the country.
“For those who love cycling, this is a great opportunity to learn from great cyclists and get inspired to start cycling,” says Nguya.
