KAMPALA: TANZANIA has called for joint efforts in a bid to curb numerous challenges facing the African continent, including climate change, corruption, and unemployment.
Addressing these issues requires strengthened regional cooperation to bring about positive change and reduce their impact.
This call was made today, April 10, 2025, by the Deputy Minister in the President’s Office for Public Service Management and Good Governance, Deus Sangu, during the 8th summit of retired leaders and experts from various countries around the world. The summit was held in Uganda and officially opened by the President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni.
In his remarks, Deputy Minister Sangu emphasized that for Africa to achieve its sustainable development goals, there is a need for special strategies tailored to the unique conditions and environments of each country.

Among the notable participants in the summit was former Tanzanian President Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, who also serves as the patron of the African Leadership Forum.
Deputy Minister Sangu stressed that genuine and strategic cooperation among African nations will significantly contribute to economic growth, the fight against corruption, and the creation of employment opportunities for youth across the continent.
