800 women to visit Ngorongoro Women’s Day

ARUSHA: THE Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) has announced that more than 800 women are expected to visit various tourist attractions ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8.

The visit aims to support and promote local tourism while raising awareness of conservation efforts.

Speaking at a press conference in Arusha over the weekend, NCAA Senior Assistant Conservation Commissioner for Tourism and Marketing, Ms Mariam Kobelo, said the tour will take place on March 7.

She explained that the initiative encourages women from Arusha and other regions to visit tourist attractions, supporting President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s efforts to promote domestic tourism.

“The President has played a key role in tourism promotion, featuring in two films—Tanzania: The Royal Tour and Amazing Tanzania. As women in conservation and tourism, we support her efforts by encouraging more women to explore our natural attractions,” Ms Kobelo stated.

NCAA women have also organised additional activities for International Women’s Day, including road cleaning along tourist routes and hospital visits to support patients.
