50 global firms eye the 7th TMIC Conference as Tanzania bolsters value addition in mining sector

DAR ES SALAAM: OVER 2,000 participants and representatives from 50 international firms are expected to attend the seventh Tanzania Mining and Investment Conference (TMIC 2026), as the government steps up efforts to attract new investment and promote value addition in the mining sector.
The conference is scheduled for November 19–21, 2026, at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.
Information from the Ministry of Mining on Wednesday stated that the TMIC 2026 is expected to bring together government leaders, international investors, mining companies, financial institutions, technology experts, researchers and other players across the mineral value chain.

Additionally, the ministry stated that the conference is expected to provide Tanzania with a platform to showcase investment opportunities in modern mining, mineral processing, refining, value addition and the establishment of industries that use locally produced mineral raw materials.
“The conference will also focus on how the mining sector can make a greater contribution to economic growth, job creation, technological advancement, increased participation of Tanzanians in mining activities and higher government revenues,” the ministry said.
Participants from more than 50 countries are expected to attend, with the conference targeting new capital inflows and stronger business partnerships between Tanzania and international investors.
The mining sector remains a key pillar of Tanzania’s economy, with the government increasingly focusing on ensuring the country captures greater value from its mineral resources by promoting processing and value addition locally instead of exporting raw minerals.
Speaking during the launch of the conference, Minister for Minerals Anthony Mavunde said Tanzania would continue creating a conducive investment environment to attract investors and unlock the full potential of the mining sector.
He said the government remained committed to strengthening the mineral value chain and ensuring that mining contributes more significantly to national economic transformation.
TMIC 2026 is expected to serve as a major platform for investment networking, policy discussions and the promotion of Tanzania’s mineral potential to the global investment community.
