Tanzania has trained a total of 16 ICT experts as the country eyes to grab opportunities brought by the emerging technologies.
This was revealed at the Parliament in Dodoma on Friday when the Minister for Information, Communication and Information Technology, Mr Nape Nnauye tabled his docket’s 212.5bn/- spending plan for the next financial year 2023/24.
After his presentation, the lawmakers discussed the plan and approved it for the implementation.
The said experts, according to the Minister, attended Big Data Analytics and cyber security training.
To enable the country to adapt changes brought by the fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), the Minister said the next training will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data Analytics , Cybersecurity, Cryptography, Cloud Computing.
Other areas are Blockchain, Computer Forensics, software development, mobile application development, robotics and ICT project management.
He added that the Ministry in the next FY, the Ministry plans to continue enhancing the establishment of a centre for ICT startups in Dar es Salaam.
