THE organisers of Miss Tanzania pageants have unveiled lucrative prizes for this year’s grand finale to be staged at Super Dome in Dar es Salaam tomorrow.
Miss Tanzania pageant is organised in collaboration with their partners, Star Media (T) Limited Company through its Star Times brand ST Bongo.
The Director of Marketing and Content of Star Media (T) Limited, David Malisa, said the winner of this year’s Miss Tanzania will be awarded a luxurious Mercedes Benz car worth more than 30m/-and 10m/- cash prize .
According to the organizer, the grand finale will engage 20 contestants who will battle for this year’s title.
The best performer of the event will also receive a ticket to represent the country in the 2024 Miss World beauty pageant.
Apart from the luxurious car and 10 m/- cash prize for the top winner, the first and second runners-up will bag 5,000,000/- and 3,000,000/- respectively.
While the fourth and fifth winners will each earn 1,000,000/- according to Malisa.
He said the lucrative prizes for the winners have been improved in order to beautify the pageant.
Miss Tanzania beauty pageant was established in 1967, and the participants were mostly from Dar es Salaam.
In 1968, the government banned beauty contests in the country before it was re-introduced in 1994 and the event picked Aina Maeda as the first Miss Tanzania who also compete in the Miss World pageant.
Tanzania ended its decade-long drought in 2005, Miss World when Nancy Sumari finished among the top six finalists and Miss World Africa.
