40 experts trained in solar energy usage

DAR ES SALAAM: THE  Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Felchesmi Mramba, has opened a training course for experts from various institutions in the country on the design, manufacture, and installation of solar energy systems and their use.

The uses of solar energy include boiling, cooking, cooling water, and drying crops using solar energy.

Opening the training today in Dar es Salaam, Engineer Mramba said that the training on solar energy technology is in line with the national priorities in Vision 2050, where the Vision touches on strategies to develop the use of renewable energy in the country.

“Renewable energy, if fully developed, will have a major contribution to economic development, will reduce dependence on unsustainable energy, including wood, and increase access to energy services in a more modern way,” said Engineer Mramba

Mramba urged participants in the training to be careful and pay attention to what is being taught so that it can bring productivity to the country.

Similarly, Engineer Mramba has explained that Tanzania is proud of its collaboration with various international organizations in developing the Energy Sector, including the successful implementation of various trainings to build the capacity of experts.

The Solar Energy Training, known as SOLTRAIN, has been organized by the Ministry of Energy in collaboration with the Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (SACREEE), which is under the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

A total of 40 participants from various institutions are attending the two-day training led by the Commissioner for Electricity and Renewable Energy, Engineer Innocent Luoga.
