28 Tanzanian drivers in Qatar for the Mowasalat Karwa assignmentÂ

DOHA: THE first group of 28 Tanzanian drivers arrived in Doha, Qatar, ready to begin employment at Mowasalat Karwa Company, as part of an ongoing initiative to create overseas job opportunities for Tanzanians.
These drivers are part of a total of 447 Tanzanian drivers who secured employment through a recruitment exercise recently held in Dar es Salaam.
This group represents the first batch of 103 drivers scheduled to arrive in the initial phase.
Upon arrival at Hamad International Airport, the drivers were officially received by the leadership of the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Qatar, led by the Head of Administration, Ms. Maryam Mrisho, representing the Ambassador of Tanzania to Qatar, H.E. Habibu Awesi Mohamed. Also present were representatives from Mowasalat Karwa Company and other embassy officials.
Speaking during the welcoming ceremony, Ms. Maryam urged the drivers to uphold discipline, obey employment laws and regulations, demonstrate professionalism, and exercise patience in the execution of their duties. She emphasized that they are ambassadors of Tanzania through the services they provide in the transportation sector in Qatar.

The remaining groups of drivers in the first batch are expected to arrive between July 29 and 30, with the full arrival of the first phase expected to be completed between August 1 and 3, 2025.
Meanwhile, preparations are ongoing to transport the remaining groups of drivers to reach the total number of 447, which will be finalized once the visa issuance and travel ticket processes are completed.
The Tanzanian Embassy in Qatar affirmed its continued cooperation with relevant authorities to ensure a favorable working environment and well-being for all Tanzanians employed in the country.
