This is the third time consecutively for the company to extend its hand to financially support the event which intends to raise funds for helping different institutions in the health and education sector to uplift girls.
Founded by National Assembly Speaker Dr Tulia Ackson, the non-governmental organisation is centered on the welfare of vulnerable groups.
The Trust is geared to provide and promote care, protection and opportunities towards the girl child education, rural communities’ economic empowerment, and women’s maternal health.
The Oryx Tanzania has for a long time been focusing on supporting social services development with a view to helping the girl child.
This is the reason for joining hands in supporting the Marathon which has similar goals.
When participating in the Marathon, Company’s Managing Director Araman Benoite said their company has been pleased with efforts done by the Tulia Trust in addressing challenges facing the Tanzanians.
“Our Company has been at forefront in collaborating with the government in addressing challenges facing Tanzanian women,” Benoite stated.
He added that the Oryx Gas Tanzania has been running a campaign for encouraging the use of clean energy for cooking by donating gas stoves and gas cylinders to women in different regions.
Through this campaign which intends to make women get rid of using charcoal and firewood for cooking the company has reached out to over 5,000 women.
“Therefore, when we see an institution like the Tulia Trust comes forward to organise an event for raising funds to support girls we see it as our responsibility to support such an initiative,” he said, arguing that the raised funds are going to bring impact to the lives of the needy girls.
