250,000 visitors heading to brighten the Nane Nane Exhibition in Morogoro
MOROGORO: OVER 250,000 visitors are expected to attend the 2026 Eastern Zone Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition, which officially opens on August 1 in Morogoro Region under the theme “Tambua Soko, Ongeza Tija, Tekeleza Dira 2050” (Identify Markets, Increase Productivity, Implement Vision 2050).
The exhibition is expected to bring together more than 500 exhibitors from Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Tanga and Coast (Pwani) regions, with Morogoro serving as the host region.
Speaking during a press briefing ahead of the event, Morogoro Regional Commissioner Adam Malima said the annual exhibition has developed into more than a platform for displaying agricultural products, describing it as a practical learning centre for farmers, processors, entrepreneurs and small-scale traders.
“These are not just exhibitions. They serve as shamba darasa (field classrooms), where farmers, processors and small-scale traders acquire knowledge on modern farming practices, exchange experiences and learn technologies that can increase productivity and incomes,” Mr Malima said.
He said this year’s exhibition will introduce an electronic ticketing system, allowing visitors to purchase entrance tickets through their mobile phones, a move aimed at reducing long queues and improving convenience.
“This year, tickets will be purchased online through mobile phones, reducing long queues and the tedious process of manual ticket selling and buying,” he said.
Mr Malima announced that entrance fees have been set at 1,000/- for adults and 500/- for children, while students will be admitted free of charge. He added that the exhibition grounds have eight entrance gates to facilitate smooth movement of visitors and exhibitors.

He further noted that the exhibition is expected to contribute to the transformation of Morogoro Region and parts of Tanga Region into agricultural hubs for spices, fruits and other high-value crops, supporting economic growth and the implementation of Tanzania’s Development Vision 2050.
Meanwhile, Malinyi District Commissioner Advocate Sebastian Waryuba congratulated the District Executive Director for developing good plans for the district’s participation in the exhibition, while welcoming exhibitors to use the event as an opportunity to gain knowledge and improve agricultural activities.
Adv. Sebastian Waryuba said the exhibition provides a valuable platform for farmers and other agricultural stakeholders to exchange ideas, learn modern practices and promote the district’s agricultural potential.
At the Malinyi exhibition pavilion, visitors will have an opportunity to see a variety of agricultural products and innovations, including cashew nuts, bananas, vegetables, tomatoes, livestock feeds, maize, rice and other crops produced in the district.
The Eastern Zone Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition brings together participants from Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Tanga and Coast (Pwani) regions, providing a platform for farmers, researchers, investors and agribusiness stakeholders to exchange knowledge, promote value addition and explore market opportunities.
