25 Tanzanian instructors head to Finland to learn modern skills in mining

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is stepping up efforts to boost a skilled workforce in the mining sector through advanced technical training.

Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Adolf Mkenda, said 25 instructors heading to Finland should fully utilise the opportunity to acquire modern skills that will enhance mining activities and value addition in Tanzania.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam on May 5, 2025, during a send-off event, Prof Mkenda said the training will strengthen the sector and improve the competitiveness of Tanzania’s minerals in the global market.

He noted that through the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA), more skilled professionals will be produced to support value addition in the country’s mineral resources.

“Make the most of this opportunity, learn new technologies and best practices that will deliver real impact for Tanzanians,” he said
