110 on course as TPC Open gathers storm

OVER 110 golfers are heading to Moshi, the venue of the national level TPC Open Golf tournament that tees off this weekend at TPC course.

The TPC Golf Club Captain Jaffari Ally confirmed on Thursday saying this year’s TPC Open will tee off on Saturday, September 17th and  Sunday covering 36 holes.

The golfers heading to Moshi represent  Arusha Gymkhana, Moshi Club, Dar Gymkhana, the TPDF Lugalo, Morogoro Gymkhana, Kilombero, Mufindi and the hosts TPC Golf Club.

There are a number of winning categories during the TPC Golf Open 2022 in Moshi.

The listed winners categories include, the overall gross winner, overall gross runner-up, overall net winner,  Division A, B, C  and Juniors winners and runners ups.

Also to be awarded are the winners and runners up of Senior category and Ladies discipline.

“The tournament will also have a preceding side events for professional golfers who will play on September 15th and 16th, two days before the official tee off,” he explained.

The official thanked CRDB Bank for bankrolling this year’s event.

The Professional golfers to play in the curtain raiser come from Arusha Gymkhana, Moshi Golf Club, Morogoro Gymkhana and Dar Gymkhana Clubs.

But aside from golf competitions, the TPC Management has started special programmes to recruit, initiate and train young golfers and until now there are over 56 children and youths being trained at the course.

“We are recruiting young players aged between 5 and 17 years,” he added.

In addition to providing free courses to the young players, TPC also issues sporting equipment and other relevant support to the young and upcoming golfers
