1,000 Tanzanian women to receive makeup artistry training

DAR ES SALAAM: MAYBELLINE New York has launched an initiative to provide professional makeup artistry training to 1,000 Tanzanian women over the next three months.
This programme, which coincides with Maybelline’s official entry into the Tanzanian market, aims to equip participants with the skills needed to pursue careers in the booming beauty industry, opening doors to both employment and entrepreneurship.
The initiative was launched in Dar es Salaam over the weekend with Maybelline’s Consumer Products Division General Manager, Victoria Karanja, who said the broader significance of the programme is to transform women’s lives.
“Our entry into Tanzania is about more than makeup is about creating economic empowerment and new opportunities for women and girls.
Our goal is to equip them with skills that will have a lasting, positive impact on their lives.

“Over the next three months, participants will receive expert training in professional makeup artistry, taught by renowned local and international makeup artists. The curriculum will cover advanced makeup techniques, business strategies and product knowledge, giving women the tools to succeed in the beauty industry,” said Karanja.
She added that whether starting their own beauty businesses, working in salons, or pursuing careers in the entertainment sector, the women will gain the skills to enhance their earning potential and contribute to the growth of Tanzania’s beauty industry.
Karanja further added that the programme’s longterm goal is to foster financial independence among Tanzanian women, helping them build successful careers and thrive in one of Africa’s fastest-growing industries.
“We believe this initiative will have a lasting impact, not only on the participants but also on their families and communities,” she said.
