Young Africans return from South Africa, receive heroic welcome

DAR ES SALAAM: Young Africans are back in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from Pretoria, South Africa where they faced Mamelodi Sundowns in second leg of CAF Champions League (CAF CL).

The envoys stumbled 3-2 on post-match penalties to farewell the season’s champions league mission.

In both legs, neither of the two sides made a breakthrough after stamping goalless draw twice hence spot-kicks had to be played to separate them.

Upon landing at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) on Saturday night, the squad was welcomed by a group of their fans who braced pouring rains to receive their heroes.

Now, Miguel Gamondi’s men will travel to play Dodoma Jiji at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma in the fourth round match of CRDB Bank Federation Cup.

The winning team will advance to the last eight of the contest.
