Yanga target vital points from Mashujaa FC in PL clash
DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG Africans look to hit the ground running today when they face Mashujaa FC in a Premier League clash at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.
The defending champions are determined to secure three points to boost their title defence, while Mashujaa FC aim to climb the league standings in what promises to be a fiercely competitive encounter.
Yanga’s Head Coach, Sead Ramovic, emphasised the importance of the match, stating: “We believe we must step out of our comfort zone. We have worked hard to address the weaknesses we identified during our recent CAF Champions League matches.

“We respect Mashujaa as a strong team that plays with skills and determination, so we are thoroughly prepared to face them with focus and intensity. Being seen as favourites doesn’t mean we underestimate our opponents. We have been preparing the players to execute the strategies we’ve focused on during training and I believe it will be a competitive match.”
Ramovic also noted that their priority is defending the league title. He noted that he had spoken to the players about the importance of earning three points today and that they are ready for the challenge.
Mashujaa FC’s Head Coach, Mohammed Abdallah, expressed confidence in his team’s ability to compete against the defending champions. Acknowledging the difficulty of facing one of the league’s strongest sides, Abdallah stressed that his players were motivated and well-prepared.
“We understand the level of competition we are up against, but we have worked hard in training to address areas of improvement. Our goal is to play smart, disciplined football and take advantage of any opportunities that come our way.
“We’ve analysed Yanga’s playing style and strengths and we have devised a game plan to counter their threats. Our players are eager to prove themselves and show that we can compete at the highest level. It’s going to be a tough match, but we are ready for the fight,” he noted.
Yanga head into the match after a 1-1 draw with Congolese side TP Mazembe in their recent CAF Champions League outing. In their last Premier League match, they secured a 2-0 victory over Namungo FC. Currently, they sit in the fourth place with 27 points.
Mashujaa FC, meanwhile, are seventh with 19 points, coming off a goalless draw with JKT Tanzania in their most recent league encounter.
Today’s match promises to be a thrilling contest, with Yanga aiming to close the gap in the top three, while Mashujaa FC seek to climb further up the standings.
