Yanga set date for Majestic ‘Mwananchi’ Day celebration

DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG Africans Sports Club has announced that this year’s ‘Mwananchi Day’ celebrations will culminate on 12 September 2025 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, with the event marking the official curtain-raiser to the new football season.
The event will serve as a platform for the club to unveil its new squad and technical bench ahead of the 2025/2026 campaign.
Among the club’s new acquisitions expected to make their debut appearance are Frank Assinki, Moussa Bala Conte, Celestin Ecua, Mohamed Doumbia, Edmund John, Lassine Kouma, Andy Boyeli, Aboubakar Nizar Othman, Abdulnassir Mohamed and Offen Chikola.
In a related development, Yanga have announced a firm stance against counterfeit merchandise, issuing a stern warning to individuals involved in the production and distribution of unauthorised kits.
In a statement released via the club’s official Instagram page Yanga said: ‘We are issuing a warning and urging people to immediately stop making or distributing jerseys and other products with the Young Africans team logo that have not been produced by the GSM Company.”

The club stressed that such actions are criminal offences and a threat to the integrity of the club’s brand.
Fans have been encouraged to purchase official merchandise exclusively from authorised outlets to show genuine loyalty and support for the club.
The warning comes at a critical time, as the club prepare to launch their official kits for 2025/26 season, with the design reveal expected in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the team returned to camp in Avic Town, Kigamboni, as part of their pre-season preparations after participating a pre-season tournament in Rwanda.
