Yanga ready for Kagera Sugar challenge

DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG Africans Sports Club Manager, Walter Harrison, has stated that the team’s preparations for Saturday’s upcoming Premier League match are nearly complete.

Yanga will take to the field on Saturday to face Kagera Sugar at the KMC Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Harrison stressed that while the team comes off a win in the FA Cup, they are determined to continue their winning streak as they aim to defend the Premier League title as reigning champions.

“Everything is progressing smoothly and our preparations have been through. The squad is fully assembled, with all players available for the match, providing the coach with the flexibility to make the best team selections.

“The match against Kagera Sugar is crucial for us, and as you know, our goals are to win the Premier League and the CRDB Federation Cup. Therefore, everything must align with this objective. We need the support of our fans to achieve these goals,” emphasised Harrison.

The last time Yanga played a Premier League match, they faced Fountain Gate and won with a dominant score of 5-0.

On the other hand, Kagera Sugar’s most recent match was against Simba, where they suffered a 5-2 loss.

Currently, Yanga are in second place in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League standings with 39 points from 15 matches, having won 13 and lost two.

Kagera Sugar, on the other hand, sit on 15th place with 11 points from 15 matches, having won two, drawn five and lost eight
