Yanga: Injury updates in 72-hours
DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG Africans said after 72 hours waiting final report from the team’s medical section, they will provide full updates on their injured players.
This was highlighted on Monday by the club’s Media and Communication Manager Ally Kamwe.
“During our match on Sunday against Azam FC, two of our players- Pacome Zouzoua and Yao Kouassi got injuries that made them not to complete the match.
“Zouzoua sustained a knee injury while Kouassi suffered a hamstring injury according to the initial diagnosis carried out by our medic, Dr Moses Etutu. As of now, it is too early to disclose the extent of their injuries, because we are still waiting for the final report from doctors,” he said.
Also on the injury list for Yanga are midfielder Khalid Aucho who recently developed a knee injury plus full back Shomari Kibwana who is recovering from an elbow injury.
Meanwhile, following their 2-1 victory over Yanga, Azam coach Youssouph Dabo said it was a game of the best two attacking teams in the league saying they succeeded in defending well.
“We did well to prevent their danger man, Stephanie Aziz Ki, from going in the flanks and this plan was perfectly executed in the second half, while in the first half, we made some mistakes but we were efficient,” Dabo said.
On his part, Yanga Coach Miguel Gamondi said the second goal they conceded was an offside.
“We have lost the game and I think some people are happy…we have played five games in seven days which is not healthy for players as they are also human beings and need to relax,” he said.
As it stands, Yanga still tops the league table with 52 points from 20 matches seconded by Azam, who have annexed 47 points after 21 games while Simba are third on the log with 45 points in 19 encounters.
Coastal Union sit fourth on the log courtesy of 30 points from 21 duels while Tanzania Prisons accommodate fifth place with 28 points from 21 outings.
