DAR ES SALAAM : YOUNG Africans will have a favourable task ahead against Burundian side Vital’O FC following a dominant 4-0 victory in yesterday’s CAF Champions League preliminary round at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.
Young Africans’ goals were scored by Prince Dube, Clatous Chama, Clement Mzize and Aziz Ki.
The win was celebrated enthusiastically by the club’s fans and with this performance, Young Africans will receive a 20m/- reward from President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
The Head of State had pledged 5m/- for each goal scored, resulting in a total reward of 20m/- after Yanga’s four-goal triumph.
As Young Africans celebrated a strong start to their CAF inter-club campaign, their fellow Tanzanian representatives, Coastal Union, face a tough challenge ahead following a 3-0 defeat to Angolan side Bravo do Maquis in yesterday’s CAF Confederation preliminary round match at Estádio Nacional da Tundavala in Lubango.

Coastal Union will need to overcome a significant deficit in their upcoming fixtures.
In yesterday’s CAF Champions League preliminary round match, Young Africans showcased their dominance, securing a 4-0 victory over Burundian side Vital’O FC at Azam Complex.
From the outset, Young Africans were the more assertive side. They took the lead in the 6th minute when new signing Prince Dube capitalised on a defensive lapse from Vital’O, giving Yanga an early 1-0 advantage.
Despite further attempts to increase their lead, Yanga’s efforts in the first half were thwarted by a resolute Vital’O defence, leaving the score 1-0 at halftime.
The second half saw Yanga continue their aggressive push. In the 56th minute, an impressive free-kick from Stephan Aziz Ki was brilliantly saved by the Vital’O goalkeeper.
However, Yanga’s persistence paid off in the 68th minute when Zambian international Clatous Chama, known for his Champions League experience with Simba SC, scored his debut goal for Yanga.
The match tilted further in Yanga’s favour as Clement Mzize, a substitute, found the net in the 73rd minute. Despite Vital’O’s efforts to mount a comeback, Yanga’s dominance remained unchallenged. The final blow came in the 90th minute when Aziz Ki converted a penalty to complete a commanding 4-0 victory.…
