Yanga aim top spot in clash against KenGold

DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG Africans Head Coach, Sead Ramović has expressed confidence ahead of their Premier League clash against KenGold, scheduled for today at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.

Yanga enter the match sitting on second place on the league table with 42 points, having secured an emphatic 4-0 victory against Kagera Sugar on Sunday.

Meanwhile, KenGold remained at the bottom of the standings on 16th place with just six points. KenGold endured a difficult campaign, earning only six points from 16 matches in the first half of the season.

With 14 games remaining, they face a tough challenge in their bid to escape relegation. Speaking ahead of the match, Yanga Coach Ramović  acknowledged the challenge posed by KenGold but emphasised his team’s determination to secure maximum points.

“We are up against a team that has made several new signings.

Their coach has his own playing style, which makes this match tricky because we are unfamiliar with how they will perform with their new players.

However, similar to our previous opponents, they may adopt a defensive approach, meaning we need to find spaces and exploit gaps to get the result we want.

“Our main goal is to collect three points. We focus on our own matches and have the responsibility to win every game. We are aware of KenGold’s quality, so we must play at our highest level,” Ramović stated.

On the other side, KenGold Head Coach, Vladislav Heric acknowledged the strength of Yanga’s attacking force, but maintained confidence in his team’s preparations.

“We have trained very hard because we know Yanga have dangerous attacking players. Their offensive unit is very strong, so we must be wellprepared both physically and mentally.

This match is very important for us because we need a win to improve our position in the standings,” Heric said.

“I am confident in the players we have brought in and we are working hard to turn things around.

There is still a lack of attacking efficiency, but once we address this, I plan to introduce a new strategy before our match against Young Africans,” Besides the fixture, today’s league schedule features an early match between Tabora United and Namungo.

Additionally, a late-night encounter will see Dodoma Jiji take on Pamba Jiji.
