With 500 stoves sold, REA hailed for promoting clean energy

TANGA: PRIME Minister, Kassim Majaliwa, has commended the Rural Energy Agency (REA) for promoting the use of clean cooking energy, where they have sold 500 gas stoves at a subsidized price of 17,500/- at food fairs.
Majaliwa made this known when he visited the REA pavilion during the World Food Week 2025 Summit held on October 16 at the Usagara School grounds in Tanga.
In another step, Majaliwa has presented a commendation award to REA, where it emerged as the second winner of the best pavilion in serving the citizens during the Food Week celebrations held in the region.

Meanwhile, REA Engineer Ramadhan Mganga said President Samia is a leader in promoting the use of clean energy in the country and urged citizens to support his efforts to move away from the use of unsafe and unsafe energy sources and start using clean cooking energy.

For his part, the REA Representative in the Tanga Region, Mha. Raphael Njango explained that the implementation of REA projects in the region is ongoing, with 2,382 sub-districts having been reached with electricity service, equivalent to 52.6 percent of all 4,531 sub-districts.
